RELIGION OF LOVE

Do you want to see how Islam is all about Love?

Do you want to fall in love with your faith,
rather than only fearing punishment?

Do you want to understand how immensely loved you are to Allah, The Lord of All Universes?

Do you want to see how it's so much more than just right and wrong, hell or heaven?

If you answered yes to those questions, you are not alone. Most of us have been thorough what you are going thru & it’s usually bcz of the way we were taught our religion growing up, that everything is black and white, right and wrong and that if we don’t do this we go to hell and if we do this we go to heaven. But this mindset is the most surface level low and limited understanding of such a beautiful Faith we have been blessed with. If fear is the foundation of whats built within someones heart in relation to religion, then its very hard to try and mix love with that. But if you try and begin to instil Love within your heart, everything you do and don't do will be done out of Love for Allah & His Beloved ‎Prophet ﷺ.  Fear is a necessary and real feeling to be felt, but if you already love someone so much, you will naturally fear to ever displease them.

Islam is Love because Allah is The Most Loving. Everything, if you just look around, is all working for, doing everything and existing because of Love. All the trees that dance with the wind and birds that chirp. Everything good in this world is created for nothing but to heal our hearts, and what way is there to heal our hearts except through love & beauty and peace. That is what Islam is. Beauty, Love & Peace and if its doing anything else thats not stemming from those then its not Islam we are following.

Even think about the human being from birth, we come out crying. Why? Because we have been separated from our Beloved. Our Source. The One to whom we belong & to Him we return [2:156]. To heal our hearts because of this separation until we return back Home, we can only find peace in the rememberance of Him. Thats why the Quran even says “indeed only through the remembrance of God do hearts find peace.” And also why our Prophet ‎ﷺ said, “Verily, Allah does not look at your appearance or wealth, but rather He looks at your hearts.” We must heal & feed our hearts with nothing but Love and once we do that we will find ourselves naturally back in love with Our Beloved.

There is no better way to try becoming one with Love other than loving Allah’s Beloved Prophet Muhammad ‎ﷺ

“None of you have faith until I am more beloved to you than your children, your father, and all of the people" [Bukhari]
—Prophet Muhammad ‎ﷺ

In the Quran it says “Say (O Muhammad to mankind): “If you (really) love Allah, then follow me (Muhammad), Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. How can we follow Muhammad ‎ﷺ if we don’t love him? To try and love him we must begin to beautifully sing our hearts in praise of him bcz Allah commands us to in the Quran: “Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that believe! Send blessings on him, and salute him with beautiful praise” [33:56].

My advice/the method that worked for me was connecting my heart through the way of beautiful sound, which is apart of our beautiful religion. Poets of the past from the Prophet’s time used to compose thousands & thousands of lines of poetry in praise of Allah & The Prophet ‎ﷺ. It was these same poems that are so potent & rich with love that are sung by muslims all over the world thousands of years later. The famous “Mawlaya sali wa salim da iman abadan” is one of the famous ones that was a poem written by Imam Busairi who was a real immense lover of Allah’s Beloved. One of his poems lines still is engraved on a lock of the holy grave of the Prophet ‎ﷺ in Madina:

It was through this way of sound, praising the Prophet that he was healed from his great sickness. This is the miracle of Qasida Burda (the whole book of poems he wrote) and saw a dream of The Prophet. The story is beautiful and you can read more about it on the website. But yes, the realest method is to drench your heart in the ocean of love through beautiful sound, art, poetry.

Praise him ‎ﷺ in the method you find most aligned with your heart. Write it, read it, sing it, play it, paint, draw it. Follow your heart for it knows the way to fall in love.
